Therapeutic Recipes

Why keto recipes are here

A well planned ketogenic diet can be a supportive tool for some people living with cancer. Evidence is still evolving and results vary by person, so keto should never replace standard medical care, treat it as an optional adjunct to discuss with your clinical team. Many people choose to cut back on added sugars and skip very sugary desserts (e.g., ice cream), which can spike blood-glucose and insulin. Metabolic-oncology researchers (e.g., Prof. Thomas Seyfried and others) note that many tumours show a high reliance on glucose (“Warburg effect”), but tumours can be metabolically flexible, so simply “cutting sugar” is not a treatment on its own. If you’re considering keto especially during treatment or if you take medication that affects blood sugar, please speak with your doctor or a registered dietitian to ensure adequate calories and protein and to avoid unintended weight loss.

On a personal note: after my prostate cancer surgery, I’ve repeatedly noticed my PSA trending down when I’m strict with keto and up when I take breaks. That’s my experience, not medical advice or a guarantee. I’m sharing the recipes I rely on here in case they help you too.

I’d love your thoughts, please share your comments and feedback so we can keep improving this collection.
